The band members have been active participants in the regional music scene of the South-Central states since the mid-70's. If you were around the Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana music scenes in the 70's, 80's and 90's you likely have heard these great players. Individually and collectively, they have toured extensively across the US and Canada over their careers, performing frequently in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. They were an integral part of the famed Stillwater Oklahoma Red Dirt Music scene during the 1990's from the ground floor up, working both in the studio and on the road with artists like The Hickodelics, Tom Skinner & Farmboy, Bob Childers, Medicine Show, Red Dirt Rangers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland, The Great Divide, and many others. But above and beyond Red Dirt Americana, they have performed many genres of music including their beloved branded “Southern-Fried Blues, Rock, and Soul".
The Rollin’ Phattys debut CD Red Hot Joe was released May 6, 2008 on the bands indie label Cimsound Records (www.cimsound.com). It features great original tunes from the songwriting collaboration of front man Ken Helton and guitarist Jeff Parker. Ken & Jeff have been working together as writers and studio mates since the early 1990s. The first single, "Red Hot Joe,” was featured on Tulsa radio shows, KVOO's "Red Dirt Radio Show," and KMOD's "Smokehouse Blues," and is featured internationally on Clear Channel Radio's "New" channel. The single is available through SNOCAP on the RPs MySpace site. The new single "Cherry Street Blues" is currently being featured on Tulsa, OK's Kool 106.1.
Red Hot Joe is available at Rollin’ Phattys live shows, and also online at CDBaby.com. It is also available digitally on iTunes, DigStation.com, Napster, BuyMusic.com, AudioLunchbox.com, as well as many others services.
